Warnings in the newspapers in Thailand about the hazards of NGV tanks have a lot of people thinking twice about converting their vehicles.
The fact is, there are hundreds of qualified mechanics who can convert a gas powered vehicle to a Natural Gas Vehicle in Thaialnd, but there are a couple of caveats to this. One of them is the fact that qualified mechanics are not the only ones installing the tanks and doing the conversions.
Just because a man has grease on his hands, is holding a wrench, and can spell the word transmission, doesn’t mean that he’s certified to perform repairs and alterations on a vehicle’s fuel system.
Another, more dangerous point, is the fact that many of the tanks are below standards and can rupture and explode. Keep in mind, no one can guarantee that a tank won’t explode, but the odds are in the vehicle owner’s favor if the tank comes from a reputable dealer and is installed by a clearly identified and certified technician.
The third point that comes to mind is; who is checking the jobs of the pro-mechanics when they’re finished. Everybody makes mistakes, but not everyone makes a mistake that can kill.
Repeated stories about mishaps are scaring some to postpone or even give up the notion of converting their vehicle to be powered by liquefied petroleum gas.
Just for the record, the gas is stored at 3 thousand pounds-per-square-inch (psi) so any explosion can be serious.
I’m excited to tell you about my new website; but I can’t just yet. In the meantime, check out this website;
