The energy crunch is world wide. The price of a barrel of oil has risen nearly 50 percent since the beginning of the year.
The bandwagon of climate change and global warming has standing room only.
Your wallet is fatter because you need to carry more money to buy the same things you have been buying, but it takes more money to do so.
Your discretionary spending is shrinking daily, your frustration is increasing, and the paycheck is shrinking or disappearing (as in losing your job from downsizing).
The world now scrambles to find alternative energy sources and cleaner ways to replace the energy that is being used.
In Thailand, where I live, work, and play (hard), the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is considering using wind turbines to provide the necessary electricity to power the public park lights.
Currently the city is negotiating with the Rajamangala University of Technology’s Thanyaburi Campus about the feasibility of such usage and what it would take to install the turbines at all the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration parks.
Estimated costs of turbines that will do the job in a park, are about 10 to 12 thousand dollars each.
