Bangkok LPG Buyers Scramble

On July 1st, Thailand’s Energy Minister will allow the price of LPG to float, which means, the price will go where it will go based on supply and demand.

In the meantime, people are getting as much LPG as they can, but stations are not allowing purchasers to fill-up.

People are lined-up, especially the taxies to save [...]

Bangkok Party and Con

Just to let you know what can happen on any given evening in Bangkok, I was in Washington Square, which is an area in the vicinity of Sukhumvit and Soi 22 in Bangkok.
One of my friends, Paul Kelly, who owns The Green Room, was celebrating his birthday. This is a small bar in an [...]

Sharing My Bangkok Morning You

How did your morning start? Mine began by meeting my attorney at 7 am and driving to the Thai Immigration Bureau.

Parking blocks away and arriving before the center opened, the line was long. Once inside it was a waiting game.

My first suggestion is that they put up a sign for information, because I witnessed [...]

Thailand Climate Change and Global Warming Solutions

The hottest topic, so to speak, is labeled two ways. The threatening Global Warming (GW) label puts fear into the minds of current generations about future generations. Climate Change (CC) is a less threatening sounding label used in place of, along with, or as a comparison to Global Warming.

Three-million three-hundred-thousand Baht was taken in the heist, but it was only about one day before three suspects were picked up and 654 [...]

Miss Thailand Eyes Miss Universe Title

Many attribute Miss Thailand’s victory to her display of self-confidence. Miss Thailand Universe Gawintra Phothijakra captured the crown and admits that one of the incentives for entering was the prize of a new computer, but the cash prize was also alluring.

In July, she will compete for the Miss Universe title which will be held in [...]

Thailand Anime is OUTSTANDING

Among the Asian countries, Japan gets high marks for being known as a place of interesting animation.

You probably wouldn’t mention Thailand in the same conversation, but you should. One animation project that has been well-received worldwide is the story of  Shelldon.

Shelldon is a young yoka shell who became an orphan in the tsunami of 2004 [...]

Protest Power in Bangkok

Fewer than anticipated showed up for this past Friday’s demonstration aimed at encouraging the current Prime Minister of Thailand, Samak Sundaravej, to leave office.
The People’s Alliance for Democracy, or PAD, which staged the recent demonstration have not been violent and the military has said that it is fully behind the Prime Minister.
Among locals there has [...]

Bangkok Monsoon Rains

If you have never traveled to Southeast Asia, I really don’t think you understand the word monsoon.
In Bangkok where I live, work, and play, the rainy season is a great time to be in the Kingdom and a bad time to be in the Land of Smiles.
On the bright side, the evenings are cooler [...]
