SINK SWIM OR A MONEY MAKING SWIMMING OPPORTUNITY

In Thailand, there are 13 million children under the age of 15 and only 16 percent of them know how to swim.

This seems odd; since Thailand is known for its islands and beach resorts.

Perhaps this is a way for you to support yourself when you move to Thailand for a while, or a long while. [...]

A STITCH OF NEWS

Following my usual 12 hour-plus work day (NO SYMPATHY EXPECTED)…

I stopped into Odermark tailor shop on Sukhumvit to pick up some pants that I had made and when I entered the shop, a gentleman was trying on a freshly made suit.

Distinctive in stature and well-groomed, I discovered that the gentleman was from Düsseldorf, Germany.

Thailand’s Justice Minister is getting tough on street racing.
Modified motorcycles built for speed and winning are becoming too much of a nuisance on the streets of Thailand, so parents are being warned that they’ll serve up to 6 months of jail time if their children are caught street racing.

THEY WERE CUTE IN SCIENCE CLASS…. BUT…

RATS!!! Too many of them says Thailand’s Public Health Ministry. Stall vendors and restaurants disposing of their left-overs in open bins… and the sewers (which they confuse with the storm drains) has ballooned to… worrisome proportions. And the improved supply of food scraps has lead to bigger rats, so big in fact, that they even [...]

DRUG USE ON THE RISE IN THE LAND OF SMILES…

Maybe that’s why it’s called the Land of Smiles, because so many people are high. I just came across a report from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board and the figure is shocking. THERE ARE 2 1/2 MILLION “KNOWN” DRUG USERS IN THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND.
That’s a lot of drugs to satisfy this bunch. [...]

There’s always somebody against the gambling thing… they’re bringing up organized crime and money laundering issues. WAKE UP!
